It is possible to practice a wide variety of sports in Salsomaggiore.

• Cycling and Mountain Bike: There is a wide choice for excursions in the neighbourhoods of Salsomaggiore. One can stroll among ancient castles, enjoy the nature of the nearby Parco dello Stirone, visit romantic tiny villages, admire breath-taking views, go for a cycle through the city's boulevards, or take a break in the many blooming parks of the town.

Salsomaggiore also has a modern Palazzetto dello Sport (Sports Palace) where numerous sporting events are held.
